The Storage Journal covers a boring industry on purpose. Storage is one of the few consumer purchases where the price is routinely withheld until you are on a phone call, and where the product can quietly fail for five months before anybody opens the door and finds out.
How this is funded
It is not, yet, in any way that would survive an accountant. There is no paid coverage, no sponsored article, no affiliate link inside a ranking and no operator has ever seen a piece before publication. Outbound links to companies carry a nofollow attribute so nobody can argue we are trading coverage for link value. If commercial arrangements ever begin, this page changes first and the change is dated.
How we handle numbers
We print what an operator publishes. Where a company will not state a figure we write that it would not state a figure, which is information in itself. We do not average, estimate or carry forward a price from an old article, because a stale number that looks precise is worse than an honest blank.
Ratings and review counts come from public platforms and are reported rather than scored. They tell you how a company behaves when things go well.
Corrections
Send the page on your own site that shows the correct figure and we will change it, usually within the week, with the change dated at the foot of the article. This applies to operators we have ranked badly as readily as to the ones we have ranked well. We do not remove accurate facts because a company finds them unflattering.
